We're nearing the home stretch, coming up on the trade deadline and bearing down on the final third of the season. That means the Red Sox and Yankees, thanks to the wisdom of MLB's schedulers, will play roughly 325 games against each other in the final two months of the season. This off-day seems like a good time to see where the principals stand, both generally and in relation to their rival's counterpart. I've decided, out of nothing more than sheer laziness, to assign an "edge" to one team or another, in the tradition of every newspaper and Web site before any kind of important sporting event. I tried as hard as possible to line up the starters against each other in their correct positions, but with Sexson a new arrival, Posada on the DL and the whole Damon/Giambi/Matsui thing making my head explode, it just wasn't very...
