A graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington's drama program and the founder, in 2003, of the Guerilla Theatre company, Davis finally realized a long-standing goal in early 2008: opening his own performance venue, the 50-seat Brown Coat Pub & Theatre on Grace Street. But don't talk to him about dreams. "Owning a theater and running one for the past six months, in some ways it's been anything but a dream," Davis said. "In a lot of ways it's been a nightmare."
