Roddick upset at Rogers Cup, joins ousted Federer on sidelines

Croatian Marin Cilic upset sixth-seeded Andy Roddick 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 on Thursday, adding the American to list of eliminated seeds from the Masters Series event. The 44th-ranked Cilic previously had beaten 12th-seeded Spaniard Tommy Robredo and Czech qualifier Lukas Dlouhy in earlier rounds. Besides Robredo, Roddick became a spectator along with No. 1 seed Roger Federer, who was beaten Wednesday night by Gilles Simon in his opening match at the US$2.6 million (€1.66 million) tournament.
