The M's let one get away on Wednesday afternoon and now head to Toronto without the services of Jeff Clement, who won't play until at least Saturday with an injured finger. Read on for all the Mariner news and notes. INSIDE PITCH The Mariners played without Jeff Clement on Wednesday, and it's likely they won't see him again until at least Saturday. Clement was the victim Tuesday of an accident that tore the nail on his right thumb almost in half. On Wednesday, he was sporting a U-shaped metal cap over the top of his thumb to keep the nail from breaking loose. Clement was chasing a foul ball in the second inning near the backstop Tuesday when he ran out of room.
