By JOSH KOVNER | Courant Staff Writer DURHAM - — The Blue Trail Range & Gun Store in Wallingford is preparing to reopen three of its four firing lanes, residents learned at a meeting Tuesday night. The decision to reopen the lanes came, Blue Trail lawyer Martha Dean said, only after significant and expensive improvements were made to the safety of the 100-yard rifle range and to business operations, including range security and record keeping. The tense but orderly meeting at the Durham Public Library drew a standing-room-only audience of Blue Trail supporters and residents whose houses have been struck by errant bullets. The session was held to provide an update of a state police inquiry into the strikes. The range is a focus of the inquiry. Maj.
