Thursday, July 24, 2008 (New Delhi) The annual inflation rate dropped slightly to 11.89 per cent for the week ended July 12, from 11.91 per cent the previous week. This is the sixth consecutive week that inflation has stayed in double digits. However, for the third consecutive week inflation has not changed by much. Inflation for the week ended May 17 was revised to 8.66 per cent from 8.1 per cent. Commenting on the latest inflation figures, the finance ministry said that inflation has continued to remain stable. In the inflation components, the prices of fuel, power, and lights remained unchanged.
