Day-long program explores a variety of scenarios By Ira Mikell, Free Press Reporter State officials, Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office personnel, Lafayette EMS, Lafayette High School teachers, staff, and students participated in an inaugural school violence training program at LHS on July 18. The event began at 8 a.m. and lasted nearly all day. Local officials said that, although the training was intense, everyone learned how to respond properly in any given scenario that involves school violence. Specific details of the training could not be released at this time, according to school personnel. Lafayette County joins a growing number of communities that are participating in school violence training.
