The European Union should sign a new cooperation agreement with Moldova only after the 2009 legislative elections because the Communist government has not implemented the necessary reforms and will use this accord for electoral purposes, representatives of the Liberal Party of Moldova (PL) say. Mihai Ghimpu, the president of the Liberal Party , has told a news conference on Thursday that as the Communist government does not have political will to implement the EU-Moldova Action Plan and the commitments made to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe are not fulfilled, Vladimir Voronin does not have the moral right to ask that this agreement be signed before the 2009 parliamentary elections.
