Nigeria: FCTA to Site Government Agencies in Satellite Towns

Posted to the web 24 July 2008 Nasir Imam The FCT Administration has concluded plans to site government agencies in Satellite Towns and Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory. The FCT Minister, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar, made this known on Tuesday in Abuja while receiving the new FCT Co-coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr. Obong Paul Attah. The Minister said that the FCT Administration intends to site some of the Federal Government's Agencies in the satellite towns to bring about development to such places and reduce overcrowding in the city center. Umar said that the infrastructure in the city is being overstretched due to the continued influx of people who always insist in remaining at the city center.
