Students on a mission By HARTRIONO B. • SASTROWARDOYO • TOMS RIVER BUREAU • July 24, 2008 The Village Mountain Mission Project, based in Sugar Grove, Ohio, is a nondenominational service project in which both youth and adult groups can participate, constructing homes for poor families in Luperon, Dominican Republic. There is a minimum age of 13 to participate and a maximum of 18 people per group. Families are welcome to participate. Basic construction skills are of help, but Village Mountain will train volunteers on-site. In addition to the construction work, participants will also have an opportunity for relaxing and having fun, such as hiking and horseback riding or spending a day at the beach.
