Iberdrola says still hopes to buy Energy East

MADRID, July 24 (Reuters) - Iberdrola still hopes to buy U.S. utility Energy East but will not go ahead if limitations are imposed on the acquisition, the head of Spain's biggest utility said on Thursday. 'We have gone to the United States with the fundamental priority of building renewable energy, fundamentally wind power, and it they put any limitation on that, we'll say no,' Chairman Ignacio Sanchez Galan told analysts on a conference call.
