IME delegate to report in Mexico By CLAUDIA MELÉNDEZ SALINAS Herald Salinas Bureau At least 31 community members from Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito and Santa Clara counties will select the next county representative on the consulting committee of the Institute for Mexicans Abroad. Formed in 2002 by former Mexican President Vicente Fox, the Instituto de los Mexicanos en el Exterior serves as an advisory board for the Mexican government in its attempts to reach out to the nearly 12 million residents living outside its boundaries. Every three years, the committee's 115 members are renewed in a lengthy process, and the third generation of appointees is scheduled to come on board in 2009.
