Rochelle de Kock HERALD REPORTER THICK fog blanketed Port Elizabeth yesterday morning, causing flights to be disrupted. There was a two-hour delay in flights to and from Port Elizabeth airport and several planes had to be diverted to East London. Port Elizabeth airport manager Lucas Letsholonyane said the fog had caused a delay but after it lifted things quickly reverted back to normal. The fuzzy weather lifted for a few hours, but returned again in the afternoon, impairing driver‘s vision on the freeway and covering the entire harbour. A high pressure system, coupled with the typical winter berg winds was the main cause of the foggy conditions, said Port Elizabeth weather office forecaster Quinton Jacobs. “Thick fog patches are found especially on the coast because of the ocean-land interaction.” Hot conditions are set to...
