Leader of Shabab-e-Milli in Karachi Muhammad Yusuf Munir has said that Washington DC will not be safe if the NATO and U.S. troops deployed in Afghanistan attacked Pakistan’s tribal districts. Shabab-e-Milli is the youth wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan’s largest religious political party. The Urdu-language newspaper Roznama Jasarat quoted Yusuf Munir as saying: ‘‘Pakistan is not Iraq or Afghanistan. It is an atomic power. If Pakistan was targeted, Washington, D.C. too will not be safe.’’ In the past, Shabab-e-Milli is known to have come under the influence of Pakistani intelligence agencies.
