Although none of us was invited to the "cocktail party-style brunch" with Bush that raised $500,000 for the Republicans on Friday, Tucson's Democrats, Libertarians, Greens and independents still contributed to Tim Bee's campaign last week. A call to my City Council representative confirmed that we, the citizens of Tucson, paid to have Swan Road blocked off from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base to the Foothills for President Bush's arrival on Thursday. We paid for the police accompanying the limos that swept Bush up to his overnight stay in the Foothills.
