By ČTK / Published 24 July 2008 Prague, July 23 (CTK) - Senator Martin Mejstrik (for Path of Change) has accused the Czech government of not proceeding the claims of expatriates living in North America, in a statement reacting to the U.N. Human Rights Committee criticising the Czech Republic in this respect. The U.N. committee criticised the country for not fulfilling international commitments in restitution of the property stolen under the communist dictatorship. "It is a shame that the government of the (Civic Democratic Party) ODS ignores the United Nations, that it refuses to honour accepted international commitments and that it has not yet had an analysis of all cases of unsolved restitution claims of our former fellow citizens in North America worked out," Mejstrik writes on his web page.
