Patrick Dwyer of Williamsburg helped the Manchester Magic achieve unprecedented success in the England Basketball League during the 2007-08 season. Dwyer, a physical 6-foot-7 forward who was the Magic's captain and one of its two American players, led Manchester to three championships: the National Cup, the Division One regular season and the Division One playoffs. In the National Cup final, he had 21 points in a 104-89 victory against Worthing. In the D1 playoffs, he had 19 points in a 113-63 quarterfinal rout of the Taunton Tigers and 12 in a 94-82 triumph over the Reading Rockets in the championship game in late March.
