Galante, superintendent of the Medina Central School District, faces a felony charge of first-degree filing a false instrument that alleges he lied on his résumé about working 17 years as a state trooper. Galante was arrested Wednesday and arraigned in Shelby Town Court in Orleans County. Bail was set at $500. Police said Galante, 48, of Dodge Road in Getzville, Erie County, claimed on his résumé that he had been a state trooper from 1981 to 1998. Police said he never worked for the State Police. Trooper Rebecca Gibbons said State Police began investigating after getting a tip in February.
