Posted to the web 24 July 2008 Martin Kadzere Harare ZIMBABWE Platinum Holdings Ltd, the number one producer of platinum in the country, on Tuesday played down allegations that it siphoned US$115 million from Zimbabwe in unpaid taxes. Zimplats said it was co-operating with the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe's investigations after an audit made "unspecified allegations", according to a statement released to the Australian Stock Exchange where the company has a primary listing. US-based firm Alex Stewart International LLC conducted the audit on behalf of the Government. Alex Stewart International undertook an audit between October 2007 to May 2008 and submitted findings to the RBZ in May.
