Together, those elements have enhanced the experience for competitors in the first United Southern Girls Fastpitch Softball World Series, being held this week at two venues in the Pensacola area. "These teams did every fundraiser imaginable," said Stan Adams, national director of the USGF. "Car washes, bake sales, even standing outside of Wal-Mart in their hats and uniforms." The tournament began Monday with games at Exchange Park on Lakeview Road and Shoreline Park in Gulf Breeze.
