Just beside a picturesque body of water — with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background — 96 kids bump 48 white Spalding volleyballs while trying not to let the ball hit the grass. The scenery, the history and the camaraderie are all part of what make the annual Lofton Lake Volleyball Camp so special. "This is the place to go if you want to learn volleyball," said former Robert E. Lee High School setter Brittany Rapert, a previous camper turned counselor. Apparently, lots of kids want to learn. Since its inception in 1987, Ruth Lawrence has made the Lofton Lake Volleyball Camp bigger and better.
