Bardina lost 6-3, 6-4. As the sounds of thousands cascaded down, Vasilisa Bardina walked onto the court at Wimbledon, the largest crowd and the toughest challenge of her young career awaiting. Under her feet she felt the historic grass surface. With her career ahead of her, this new experience swept over and engulfed the 18-year-old. Bardina had arrived.
