By MARTHA CLAUSSEN For the Chronicle If you have ever thought about buying a racehorse, the Texas Quarter Horse Association will showcase more than 350 potential champions in this weekend’s TQHA Yearling Sale. The event is in its 11th year, and the public is invited to attend and view the yearlings. The action begins at 11 a.m. Friday and continues through Saturday in the Pavilion Centre at Sam Houston Race Park. The sale has produced many American quarter horse racing champions, including 2003 world champion Oak Tree Special and Azoom, who was the leading 2-year-old in the nation by wins in 2004. “There have been some exceptional sale graduates,” said Rob Werstler, TQHA executive director. “It takes a lot of work, but it is worthwhile, as it gives Texas breeders and consignors an opportunity to sell their horses.
