Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan says the recent tax cuts were designed to help people struggling with the cost of living. He was speaking in Sydney at the prospectus launch of the Government's National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS). The NRAS offers incentives to build new homes for rent at below market rates. Mr Swan says the scheme is a long-term plan.
