Hyundai Makes Donation to Dell Children's in Support of Pediatric Cancer Research

Austin, Texas - (July 23, 2008) - Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas has been selected by Hyundai Motor America and its dealers to receive a donation of $30,000 from the 2008 Hyundai Hope on Wheels™ Tour. The donation will support the research efforts of Dr. Virginia Harrod, a 2008 Hyundai Scholar. "Between 1975 and 2003, the five year survival rate of childhood cancer rose from 58% of patients to almost 80% of patients, due to major advances in treatments," said Dr. Virginia Harrod, pediatric oncologist.
