PALO ALTO, Calif., July 24 (UPI) -- American swimmer Jessica Hardy tested positive for a banned substance, Swimming World magazine reported Wednesday. The report said Hardy is no longer at the U.S. swimming team's Olympic training camp. Hardy qualified for spots on the American Olympic team in both the 100-meter breaststroke and the 50-meter freestyle at the recent trials. She was also expected to swim on at least one relay. The deadline for the United States to submit its Olympic swimming team has passed, meaning that if Hardy cannot compete, her spots on the squad will have to be taken by swimmers who are already qualified.
