Jankovic opens with win in California

overcame a slow start Wednesday to dispose of Vania King in the second round of the East-West Bank Classic in California. Jankovic received a first-round bye and was in action for the first time since being eliminated in the fourth round at Wimbledon by Tamarine Tanasugarn.
