Tadd Fujikawa opens with 73 in Japan golf tourney

Hawai'i professional Tadd Fujikawa shot a 1-over par 73 Thursday in the opening round of the Nagashima Shigeo Invitational Sega Sammy Cup at The North Country Golf Club in Hokkaido, Japan. Fujikawa, a 17-year-old Moanalua High student, was eight strokes behind clubhouse leaders Koumei Oda and Jun Kikuchi, who shot 65s. Several golfers were yet to complete their rounds.
