INVESTORS need to be vigilant against a dodgy share purchasers, says Woodside Petroleum. Woodside delivered the warning after Hassle Free Share Sales wrote to some shareholders offering to purchase shares in the oil producer for $25.99 each. At 11.39am (AEST) Woodside shares were worth $52.77 while its weighted average price for the June quarter $61.33. Woodside said it does not endorse the unsolicited offer by Hassle Free and is in no way associated with the offers. "Woodside is concerned that shareholders may unknowingly accept an offer for their Woodside shares that substantially undervalues their shareholding," it said. Under the Corporations Act, anyone can inspect and obtain a copy of the register of shareholders. Woodside announced on July 7 that it was obliged to provide a copy of the register to Hassle Free.
