THE WAY I SEE IT: Even in politics, fair is fair By Robert Evans Burnette / Chronicle columnist The very last thing I want to do is to be unfair to the presumptive Democrat candidate for president. My initial impression was that the circumstances of his birth gave him some sort of immunity from close examination. In order to avoid being called a racist, I decided to weigh this "immunity" against the experiences of similar Americans. First, there is the matter of this 20-year relationship with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. I thought that the candidate was being given a free pass on this issue, so I compared the candidate with another man of similar ancestry.
