SPRINGDALE - When Springdale-based Tyson Foods Inc. bought into an Argentine beef joint venture in January 2007, the export potential was promising. The partnership with Cactus Feeders and Cresud gave Tyson a portal to the lucrative European beef markets not available from the United States. He said it has become more difficult in recent weeks for meat processors of all sizes, but Tyson Foods' medium-sized operation is doing its best to manage through the delays. The ongoing turmoil among farm interests and government officials has also prompted a shake-up in Argentina's government.
