Buford Snoddy, awaiting trial for the murder of his female cousin, was found dead at his home this morning. Henderson County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Charlie McDonald confirmed this afternoon that Snoddy died of a gunshot wound. He would not confirm that Snoddy’s death was a suicide, but said the Sheriff’s Office was not investigating it as a homicide. The Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 10:30 this morning from Snoddy’s brother, Theodore Snoddy, McDonald said. The call is listed in the sheriff's dispatch log as a suicide.
