Seizing on Iraqi officials’ endorsement of a troop withdrawal timeline similar to the one proposed by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, a new ad from a veterans’ political group accuses GOP rival John McCain of impinging on the “Iraqi freedom” they fought for. VoteVets.org, which claims 100,000 members, tries to get Iraq and Afghanistan veterans elected; so far, VoteVets has endorsed mostly Democrats.
