GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4) ― The case against a teenager accused of beating a young girl to death will go to trial. Lamar Roberts, 17, appeared before a Weld County judge Wednesday morning. He's accused of using moves he learned from the Mortal Kombat video game on a young girl. Roberts and Heather Trujillo, 16, were baby-sitting Trujillo's step-sister Zoe Garcia, 7, last December. Authorities say she died from head injuries after she was hit, kicked and slammed to the floor as the teens reportedly re-enacted the video game. A court sentenced Trujillo earlier this month. She pleaded guilty in May to child abuse-negligently causing the death of Garcia. Trujillo's prison sentence may be suspended if she successfully completes six years in a Youthful Offender System...
