Lee Center cleans up after early morning storms blow through the area

Story Created: Jul 23, 2008 at 5:23 PM EDT Story Updated: Jul 23, 2008 at 5:24 PM EDT LEE CENTER - The village of Lee Center is a mess of fallen trees, flattened crops and damaged buildings after an early morning storm. We have heard the terms 'microburst' and windburst' tossed around but no official word yet on exactly what kind of storm tore through Lee Center around 5:30 Wednesday morning but what we do know is that the winds were so strong, they tore four trees in a row right out of the ground. The wind opened the town barn door and blew out the back wall made of cinder blocks. This man lost his ice house, built in the 1800s. He hated to see that go but feels pretty lucky his new barn and home were both untouched.
