Organization raises funds through softball game By Sarah Jane Rosser, Staff Writer Tuesday, July 22, 2008 — A charity softball game brought residents to Norwood Memorial Park Sunday. Approximately 150 community members and supporters gathered to enjoy the hot summer day out at the ballpark for a good cause. The Community Who Cares program has kicked off its summer charity softball event to raise money to support the community by making concessions available as well as donations. President Grover Shankle said the event was the third game they’ve conducted this summer. They are looking forward to more support in the future. “We are a pipeline of information to the community and we build a support system for residents,” Shankle said.
