The History Department at the University at Buffalo (SUNY) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the history of the Caribbean or Latin America (excluding Brazil), to begin in fall 2009. The department seeks a historian whose research employs an Atlantic perspective and who will participate in the department's Ph.D. field in the North and South Atlantic. Comparative or transnational approaches are desirable; chronological specialization is open. In addition, the successful candidate will have administrative responsibilities in the University's graduate program in Caribbean and Insular Atlantic Studies.
