Sting and The Police have attracted the top price for their jeans at a charity auction in Sydney. The denim sensations were bought for $22,000 at Wednesday night's Jean for Genes Gold Denim Ball at the Hilton Hotel. Also under the hammer were Cameron Diaz's denims that sold for $15,000, while country music trio The McClymonts' jeans sold for $10,000. The duds of Australian actor John Walters and racing car driver Craig Lowndes were both auctioned for $9,000. The evening raised more than $250,000 for research into childhood genetic disorders performed by the Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI). All the jeans on the block featured painted artwork and had been signed by the owner.
