America Extends U.S. Dates Through November

By: Howie Edelson America has extended their North American tour through November, and kick off their next string of dates on August 15th in Westbury, New York at the Capital One Bank Theatre at Westbury. Gerry Beckley of America says that what constitutes a major touring year differs from act to act: "You know, we played a gig with Mike Love and Mike is touring as the Beach Boys, and he said they're going to be doing 175 (shows) this year -- which is to us an immense number. If you ask B.B. King, he does over 300. It's a relative number. We say 100, but it may really be about 85 or so, and to be honest, that's a lot for us."
