Defender completes permanent switch from Benfica Crystal Palace have signed Jose Fonte on a permanent deal from Portuguese giants Benfica. The 24-year-old, who joins for an undisclosed fee, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Selhurst Park. He originally joined the Eagles on loan in January, making 26 appearances for the club as they reached the Championship play-off semi-finals. That agreement included the right for Palace to make the move permanent over the summer and Neil Warnock has decided to take up that option.
