LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 23, 2008) − The National Cancer Institute has selected the University of Kentucky College of Medicine Department of Radiation Medicine as an integral part of its radiation oncology training for its residents. "To provide adequate experience with gynecological cancer cases, the NCI could have elected to train its residents in a number of leading institutions in the United States," said Dr. Mahesh Kudrimoti, the residency program director for radiation medicine. "We were chosen because of our national reputation for excellence in radiation treatment of gynecologic cancers, our case volume, our great relationship with our gynecologic oncology colleagues and our interest in teaching."
