Published July 22, 2008 Police had two men and a woman in custody after the robbery of an Albertville bank this afternoon. The Southern Bank Co. branch at 625 E. Main St. was robbed at about 1:26 p.m. and police were able to flood the area immediately, with help from the Boaz and Guntersville police departments and the FBI. Police said the two men were toting guns when they entered the bank and demanded money. Employees complied and the men fled in a Buick Electra reported stolen Monday in the Gadsden area. A dye pack placed in the bag of money apparently exploded while the men were driving near Memory Hill Cemetery, causing a one-vehicle accident.
