The book was written to educate children about puppy mills. Judith Kristen and Henley, the 10 1/2-year-old Old English sheep dog, educate children in South Jersey and Philadelphia schools about puppy mills. Now they're doing book signings. 'My Name is Henley: My Life and Times as a Rescued Dog' is available in paper back: "I wrote this book in the dog's voice so that it could reach children. Henley was a Lancaster mill puppy runt who was abandoned and left to die and so the story happens tens of thousand times a day, a million times a year."
