BRATISLAVA -- Slovakian PM Robert Fico has welcomed the news of the arrest of Radovan Karadžić. Fico warned however that it was necessary to establish responsibility for the deaths of a great many civilians during the 1999 NATO airstrikes against Yugoslavia. “It is very good that investigations into all war crimes are taking place. Everybody who is responsible for brutal treatment and murder will be prosecuted and eventually convicted,” the Slovakian prime minister told a press conference in Bratislava. However, Fico warned that an investigation was needed into the crimes against civilians during the bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999. “I think we need to see whether someone was responsible for the deaths of so many civilians in Serbia during the bombing.
