Posted to the web 23 July 2008 Patrick Okino And Bonney Odongo Kampala FIVE residents of Lira district have been killed in the past three weeks over land disputes, the Police have said. The community liaison officer at Lira Central Police Station, Jodaga Gemonamola, said the incidents occurred in the sub-counties of Amac, Apala, Adwari, Abako and Lira municipality. The dead are Lucano Otim, Adit Tericana, Milton Okello and Dorcus Achola, who was beheaded by unknown assailants near Lira military barracks on Saturday. The identity of the fifth person killed in Abako could not be established by press time. Achola, a trader based in Juba, South Sudan, was on Saturday found lying in a pool of blood in her compound at Senior Quarters after she was beheaded by unknown people.
