OCRRA holds hazardous waste collection day

Syracuse, New York (WSYR-TV) - Onondaga County residents had a chance Tuesday to get rid of hazardous items forbidden from the regular trash collections. OCRRA held one of its "Household Hazardous Waste Collections" on Tuesday. It's one of only five chances per year to properly dispose of items like automotive fluids, oil-based paints, gardening pesticides, lighter fluid or fluorescent light bulbs. The next one is the last one for 2008 - and you have to make a reservation. It's Tuesday, September 23 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Community Collection Center on Court Street Road.
