R.I. Democratic Party drops complaint over signatures

PROVIDENCE –– The state Democratic Party has withdrawn objections to the nomination signatures submitted by two candidates running against two of the highest-profile Democratic politicians in the state. The names of Jonathan Scott, a Republican running against Rep. Patrick Kennedy, and Christopher Young, a Democrat challenging Sen. Jack Reed, will appear on the ballot, according to Robert Kando, executive director of the Rhode Island Board of Elections.
