Former fugitive Radovan Karadzic's family is "optimistic" he can beat the war crimes charges he faces before a United Nations court after his arrest in Serbia, his brother said after visiting him overnight. Karadzic, who evaded capture for nearly 13 years, was arrested by Serbian security forces on Tuesday morning (Australian time). Authorities said he had lived in Belgrade and posed as a doctor of alternative medicine, sporting long hair, a beard and glasses to hide his face. Karadzic, the former Bosnian Serb leader, has been wanted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) for his role in the massacre of some 8,000 Muslim men and boys at Srebrenica 13 years ago.
