NEW YORK (AP) - E.W. Scripps Co. reports second-quarter earnings Thursday. The following is a summary of key developments and analyst opinion related to the period. OVERVIEW: The Cincinnati-based newspaper publisher and TV station operator is expected to report sharply lower profit and revenue in the quarter. Its daily and community newspapers are battling declines in ad spending as advertisers follow readers online. A marked increase in newsprint costs is also pressuring margins. This is the last quarter that Scripps results will also include those from its online search and comparison Web sites and five cable and satellite television networks such as the Food Network and HGTV.
