Acclaimed tenor Willard White returns to Shrewsbury on the 6th August by popular demand to recreate the magic of Paul Robeson. British folk song, Negro spirituals and classic early jazz songs make up a varied programme that recreates the career of one of America’s greatest singers. The evening will culminate with Willard White’s moving rendition of the Robeson classic Old Man River which proved to be a real showstopper last year. White will be accompanied by an outstanding group of accompanying musicians. The concert takes place at St Chad’s Church at 7.30 pm and tickets are £16 downstairs and £11 upstairs.
